Notes from the House

Journal

What got built, what’s next, and the odd thing worth saying out loud. Newest first.

The door is open

The front of the house is up, and it looks like the house we actually wanted: the host at the door, the city behind him, the hall lit up inside. Come on in.

Behind the door right now: sign in with a passkey, invitations and a human check-in, and your own page. Photos, a reel of ten, a playlist if you want one, an about-me with forty-odd questions you can answer or skip, friends, blocks, and a switch for who gets to see any of it.

What’s coming, in order

Posts and threads first, so a good conversation can stay up on the board instead of scrolling away. Then the rooms, with live text chat. Then voice and video in those rooms, which is the bit most of us are waiting for.

After that: stories, events with a calendar that works, and groups by region and interest. We’ll write it up here as each one lands.

How you get in

Someone inside sends you a link. You open it, make a passkey on your phone or computer, and one of the House Guard has a look and lets you in, usually within a day or two. There’s no sign-up form, and there won’t be one.

If you don’t know anyone yet, write to us. A person reads every message.

Want in? Here’s how.
